Region: In India south of Brahmaputra in Assam, Meghalaya and Mizoram. Also Myanmar.
Description: Small in length, moderately slender bodied snake with a moderately short tail. Can grow to a maximum of at least 0.48 metres ( few recorded specimens ). Head is flattened and distinct from neck. Snout is rounded when viewed from above and projecting beyond the lower jaw when viewed from the side. Eyes are moderately small in size with subcircular (vertically elliptical pupils ). Dorsal scales are smooth.
