Region: The Nicobar cat snake, Boiga wallachi, is a species of rear-fanged colubrid found in the Nicobar Islands.

Description: Medium in length, laterally compressed bodied snake with a moderately long tail. Can grow to a maximum of at least 1.51 metres ( few recorded specimens ). Head is moderately large ( small for this genus ), flattened in the orbital region, ovate when viewed from above and distinct from neck. Snout is short, slightly projecting beyond the lower jaw and obtusely rounded. Eyes are large in size with vertically elliptical pupils. Dorsal scales are smooth, arranged obliquely and without apical pits. Vertebral scale row is enlarged.
